Welcome to the Annual Baker’s Trial, where mortals gather to compete for the legendary Baker’s Flame bestowed by the God of Biscuits. To win, you must please three unusual judges—creatures of mystery, mischief, and very particular tastes. 

At its heart, Bake or Break is a lighthearted baking strategy game about experimentation, discovery, and risk-taking. You will: 

• Make offerings at the altar to exchange for mysterious ingredients.
• Learn about the judges’ quirks through trial and error.
• Decipher ancient clues to discover hidden recipes.
• Return each year to try again if you fail – perseverance is part of the challenge!

🎮 Gameplay

• Bake with strategy (and luck): Drag 4 ingredients into the bowl, mix, and bake. With flour, butter, and sugar, it will always yield a successful biscuit, but to truly impress, you’ll need to dare with rare ingredients and unusual mixes.

• Know your judges: Each judge has dislikes you must avoid. To pass the trial, either satisfy all three… or make just one judge ecstatic!

• Offerings at the altar: Spend your limited ingredients in the mystical alter (i.e. God's gacha machine), trading for strange and powerful ingredients. Risk big, and you might discover the key to a secret recipe.

• Uncover hidden recipes: Use trial-and-error, decipher clues in the collection book, or even draw inspiration from real-world baking recipes. The most wondrous combinations await the bold.

• Persistent challenge: The trial happens every year. Fail once, and try again with the wisdom of your past attempts.

The game jam theme shines through every choice you make. Will you play it safe and earn modest approval—or risk it all with daring ingredient rolls, bold experiments, and risky guesses about your judges’ tastes? Only those willing to gamble for glory can seize the Baker’s Flame.
